The trainers give a leg up to the riders and send them out through the tunnel and onto the world's most famous track as the University of Louisville band strikes up Stephen Foster's "My Old Kentucky Home".

Minutes later, a field of the best three-year-old thoroughbreds breaks outs out of the gate with an explosion of pent-up energy. The jubilant crowd yell in unison, "THEY'RE OFF" and prepares to witness history in the making.
